Description & history

The Louis Vuitton Alma PM in Damier Ebene canvas is one of the house's most classic and recognizable bags — its structured dome silhouette, round chocolate leather handles, and two-tone checkerboard canvas make it a timeless piece that transcends decades without ever going out of style.

Created in 1934 by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the Alma takes its name from the Pont de l'Alma bridge in Paris. Its dome shape, inspired by Art Deco architecture, gives it a rigid and elegant hold that makes it an excellent city bag. The Damier Ebene canvas, with its alternating light brown and dark brown squares, is one of the most understated and sophisticated variations in the LV repertoire — without apparent monogram, it appeals to those seeking discreet elegance.
